i have a bailey pageant caravan about 10 years old. how can i re-tension the roller blinds that run down vertical tracks, they will not all wind back up, there is a type of keyhole at the top of blind housing.

on the bailey ranger you have to unscrew the top and bottom screws that hold the blind and runners to the body of the caravan,then you can move the blinds and runners from side to side,move to the right and lift the actual blind unit out of the runners then to the left and lift out the unit, then you have just the blind unit in your hands.when you have got this far on the left hand side of the unit there are two screws, one for the fly blind and one for the blackout blind, adjust as neccessery but when you release the screw do it slowly so that the adjuster ratchet can slot back into place,then just re-assemble,easy.

This is not a killer task. It is however one that takes two people if you have never done it before.

You will also need a large clutter free flat space to carry this out and a fare amout of patients. I had to walk away and come back after a brew!

Take blind off the window

Some blinds allow you to retension with out taking appart

See Haynes manual

If yours don't

Remove the white ends. One of these ends is connected to the centrel core that tensions the blind.

If you can help it do not let the blind unravel.

I allowed this to happen and carfully sprayed WD 40 in to
the spring.

The second person can prevent unravelling by holding the center tensioner. If you do this, to tension it further just turn the center shaft in the direction of most resistance. this will add more tension.

When reassembling in reverse order make sure the person hold ing the tensioner does not let go.

If you have allowed the blind to untention. You just have a lot more turning to do and it might take a few goes to gain the required tension.

You can only do this by putting the blind back at the window and tring it out. Be patient!!

Take off the left hand top plastic cap, there in you will find the tensioner which is adjustable with a screwdriver
