how do i change/replace the cam belt on my n reg 1.8 turbo diesel ford mondeo?

Get a garage to do it, its a very difficult job requiring specialist tools, and the tensioners will need changing too. The belt normally comes as a kit including the tensioners. It is not worth dismantling the engine with the risk of making an error which will be VERY costly to put right.

it really is best to put in a garage.im a mechanic and when mine needed doing i paid to have it done.not worth the risk on this model,as was mentioned you need the kit as well.

WITH A LOT OF CARE ! ...
HAYNES do a manual for this car - the cambelt change is explained in detail.
If you decide to do it yourself you will need a support for the engine as the engine mount has to come off ( at the cambelt end of the engine ) you will also need a locking pin set for the engine .
Also get a full cambelt KIT from a reputable source - not just the belt .... power steering & air con belts too ... its expensive when the cam belt fails - I KNOW ! Or a good garage should be able to do it for around £ 180 - 200 all in . ( mine cost £ 182.12 including belt kit @ £ 55.00 )
