Someone told me it was a case of sh*t under the filter. I had wondered how often I would have to do this!

After stripping everything down and testing to find nothing seemed to be wrong, I eventually found this page. Followed the instructions, removed the little plug and hey presto. Thanks David.

not to sound too thick but i really cant find this clear hose with a plug in it. ive disconnect the water in and nothing the water into the machine including unscrewing it and nothing. Is it the water outhose i should be looking at?

Not an answer as such, but a thank you and recommendation that you try David's solution before calling out an engineer. My DWS-935 was not letting water in. After a few minutes following the steps above (and cleaning out all that gunk under the machine!) the dishwasher is back to normal.

you have an airlock in the valve. you need to turn off water and disconnect hose , remove plate from valve connecter and you will see a bleed off clear hose with a small white plug in end, bleed off water and then reassemble. start machine on rinse cycle without turning on mains water ,when you hear buzzing sound turn water on. hopefully problem solved.
these machines have always had problem with iwms water meter tank.( ex zanussi engineer)
