How can I fix the thermostat on my Cannon Camberley main oven?

I believe the main oven's thermostat has failed. The oven ignites but the flame never gets above the lowest setting, even when the knob is turned right up to mark 9. Is this likely to be the termostat and is this the unit at the back of the oven right by the flame? It seem to be just screwed in?

Also I noticed that there is a small rod that crosses the flame at the back of the oven and this was bent and then it broke off. Is this the "electrode"? And could this be the cause of the flame not getting bigger?

The Thrrmostat seems to cost about £20 and the electrode about £3 would I need to replace both?

Any advise much appreciated...

i also have a cannon gas cooker and the sensor over the flame has also snapped off and although the flame will light ok, it does not flare up at all to heat the oven..i suspect this is the sensor to the thermostat and therefore i'm sure in my case also this has got to be the problem and not the seals or flame failure sensor.Any ideas where the thermostat is located would be of help.i cant see it from the back of oven and i suspect it may be underneath the oven itself..not sure how difficult a job it is likely to be though, its hard to find any relevant info

I am having the same problem, no matter how high you set the temperature, it never gets above gas mark 5. About a year ago I had exactly the same problem with the top oven. As the cooker was still under warranty, the engineer came and replaced a seal/gasket at the back of the oven that had perrished. The engineer explained that this seal/gasket either seals the top oven when in 'oven mode' or is open when being used as a grill. I am suspisious that the problem with the main oven could be caused by a similar thing....investigating at the moment but trying not to call an engineer as the warranty has expired and I don't fancy paying a huge bill! Please let me know if you find a solution before me.
