if it is like a standard solenoid, find the wire coming from the key switch that would go to the activation circuit, and use either a female end of a barrel connector (my personal favorite jury rig) or a female spade terminal depending on the type. Then, from the left side, run a ... 4 or 6 gauge cable to the positive side of the battery, and on the other side run the same to the starter's power post ... that should cover it. I did it on many of my mowers, both the racing mowers and the regular machines and it always works.
