clutch or gear box?

Hi, I`m having great difficulty selecting first and second gear in my 53 plate Corsa. Do you think that this is a clutch or gear box fault?

common problem on corsa c its the gear selector which is made of plastic and rapidly wears out but there is a modified version available from vauxhall or ebay which is made of metal

the selector arm from gear box to shaft might of moved 1 to 2 mil thanks bub
