How do I change a vectra timing belt?

The timing belt has snapped on my 1998 1.6 vectra. Is it an easy job for the DIY mechanic? Do I need special tools?

Had this happen with my 1.8 16v vectra, bent 14 out of 16 valves, Vaux said belt was good for 80 K, broke at 43, I would always recoment not to exceed 35 K before changing , I am a mechanic and removed the head and took it to engine shop for repair and set up, still cost me £350.

its not a hard job but if it snappped while u were driving youve probably bent your valves and totaled your engine youll have to get it to a garage to get it fixed about £600
