My Hoover washer has just passed its expiry date on its 5 year warranty!! - typical.
The machine goes through its full cycle of putting the water in and pumping it out again but will not wash or spin. The drum spins freely and is not seized.
I have checked the belt and other connections that i can see and the drum did start to wash and spin but when i rebuilt it - it stopped again??
Any ideas??

My washer has just started doing this and Im going to check the bushes on the motor to see if they are worn, if so, its a couple of quid to replace them. I've re-built this washer once after the bearings packed up. The bearings are standard and if you can get the number off the bearing or glue the bearing together the bearing shop will measure it for you, I bought new bearings for about 17 quid. I was told I needed a whole new unit at 200 quid
