Just got to the bottom of the problem! Apparently if you phone the manufaturer on their premium rate phoneline, they will tell you:
"the reason that, that problem is not in the manual is because you wouldn't know what to do to fix it mate"
I wasn't aware we were so pally, and he could determine my qualifications over the phone, but he went on to say:
"what it is, is that you need the man to comeout wif 'is laptop and av a good look at it"
"I can book it for you now, and it only costs £105"
Bear in mind that the figure represents almost 3 days salary for him on minimum wage!
Not happy at all with the service - lessons have been learnt!
