will not pick up gps.unit switched on for at least 1hr.will an antena work ?

My Navman 320 only read ' searching for sattelites' until I attached an antenna, it now works fine.
Apparently a lot of windscreen now have a coating which acts as a block to signals so I would say the answer to your question is Yes and antenna would probably make it work
