Snapper riding mower will not roll. Why?

The back wheels on my snapper will not roll in the same direction at the same time. They will roll opposite directions at the same time but not foward or backwards together. The brakes are not set and the shift lever is in nuetral. It is an older model and has been parked for five years. What could be wrong?

remove thhe wheel & the little plastic axle cover..Put in a new bolt, 5/16 by 1 &1/2 inches.. Should correct the problem.

Check that the brake lever did not slip outside of the drive disk. Will it move if you remove the disk drive?

pull rear wheels,look for broken bolt in hub,replace bolt,when one is broken has no positave traction.
