pre wash light flashing..door wont open, machine wont work Beko 1715S?

Beko Ecocare washing machine model WMA 1715S
The pre wash green light is flashing on right hand side panel. Door wont open, machine will not work. Have gone through suggestions in fault finding manual before getting advise from service agent who suggested cleaning out pump. Have done as advised but light still flashing. The pump impellor does not spin freely when you turn it by finger but this might be normal. Can anyone help please.

I have managed to reset my machine, but all it did was move the flashing pre-wash light from the right side to the top left side. Any ideas people ?

what a great site! the reset code worked a treat, lets hope its not an occurring problem :-)

Well, after keying in the reset code, the prewash button stopped flashing. I loaded up the machine and thought...great we're away!! It did manage the wash cycle, then stopped. Had to key in the reset code again and turned it to spin. Drained all the water away but would not spin. Have tried now several times with reset and spin but to no avail. I suppose that after 5 years I cant grumble as I only paid £249 for the machine, so will be out to look for a replacement today.

I have had this machine for nearly five years now with NO problems until yesterday. The pre-wash button flashing and wont do anything else. Thought I would just look up on internet, maybe someone else having same problem and here you all are... having this same problem!!! Have noted down the reset instructions and will be trying when I get home... will post my results!! THANKS!

Ady,

Did you ever find out why the drum did not spin?

I've had to 'reset' very often on this mchine, and to make things worse, not the drum doesn't spin, but you can hear it trying to do something. It's almost like the drum is trying to spin but can't. The drum spins freely by hand though.

Any help?

hi can some one help my beko 1715 will not drain the water please please please can some one help thanks alison.

Had a couple of problems with my Beko WMA1715 since getting it 3 years ago. First I got the prewash light flashing as described earlier. This turned out to be a bra wire (grrrrr!) stuck in the pump. Removing it and resetting the processor in the method shown on here worked fine. Three days after the warranty ran out I got same fault, however the programmer would not reset. Turned out to need a new program card.
Latest fault was as before, but prewash light not flashing. After entering engineer mode (off at button, 90 degree wash, hold start/cancel 3 secs, press on, still holding, until start light flashes), I pressed start button to advance through the program. Everything worked except the drum would not turn. Turned to spin, pressed start/cancel 3 secs to reset, then press off. When I turned it back on, I opened the door, and turned the drum by hand. Closed door and it now works fine. Suspect the carbon brushes are worn, so will replace them next time it stops (although its done a few washes so far ok!)

Just found this website becuase I was having the same issue this morning.

Tried the procedure and the machine is fit and fine again. Many thanks for this invaluable info.

I do however, have to disagree with some of the comments about this machine. We have had it two years and with no problems and it does on average 3 washes a day, seven days a week. So can't complain really.

Adrian.

Any luck with an answer as I'm having exact same problem! This machine is terrible, I won't be recommending this again!
Thanks

I found this reset still does not work.

- I turn it off at the main push switch on the front
- Set the dial to 90 degree wash
- Turn on holding in the start/cancell button (there is only one button, the reset posted implies there are two buttons)
- It flashes the start LED.
- Keeping the Start/cancell button pressed in and pressing the spin button causes all the buttons to flash (Entered reset mode)
- I cant select any spin position
- Releasing the start/reset and spin buttons leaves the machine with all LED's flashing.
- If I then press the Start/Cancel button it starts filling with water at 90 degreed i assume (Holding in for 3 seconds + does nothing)
- Pressing it again cycles throught the programme but it will not do each stage automatically. So I can empty the machine of water but to move onto the spin I press the start/cancell button again and it goes into spin but will not drain any water.
- Once advanced several times through what I assume is a cycle it ends up at the flashing LED point again and the whole cycle can be started again.

Am I missing something?

This reset posted here appears to take the machine into an engineer function which will manually advance through the cycle, spin drain water etc upon pressing start/cancel.

I can't get the machine to actually re-set and start a full programme again.

This mode also seems very dangerous as it can keep filling with water until you advance the cycle on (I think)

Any advice.... Not liking this machine much at the moment. Give me a hoover mechanical dial :-)

Fantastic.

I had this machine for 9 days before this happened. A Service engineer reset it, but wouldn't tell me how to do it.

It happened again tonight, luckily I found this site. :) It's now working fine again. No ten day wait this time for some numpty to arrive and reset it reading straight from the service manual..

Thanks for the info.

Have had the same problem, prewash light flashing right hand side of machine. The shop I purchased machine from have spoken to their Engineer and it's a case of re-setting the machine. Have told me how to do it and the machine's working again - fingers crossed!
Turn power button off (not at wall)
Select 90 degree wash
Press Start and Cancel button down at same time for 3 seconds and turn power button on whilst still holding buttons down - Start light will flash.
Leave power on.
Select any Spin position.
Press Start and Cancel button at same time again for 3 seconds - other buttons may start to flash - if they do, press Start and Cancel button together again for 3 seconds.
Machine should be re-set ready for use.
Good luck!
All we need now is for the rain to stop!
