How to fix the ice maker?

I have a Whirlpool ET22DK refrig/freezer with a buildt-in ice maker inside the freezer. There is water upto the feed going thru the back wall of the freezer; however, the ice maker is not making ice. When the unit cycles water leaks from the feed going thru the back wall of the freezer. Suggestions?? (without calling Sears to rip me off!) Thanks!

could be the pipe that feeds the icemaker is perished,
i had this on a brittish made one,
the pipe on this one came down from roof into ice maker..

shouldnt cost to much if its this..

also the infra red sensor at either side of ice maker may be faulty, causing ice maker to stop making ice

hope this helps
