how do i replace broken wheel lugs/studs?

i broke two wheel studs while attempting to remove the tire. i felt behind the rotor but could not feel the the heads of the stud.the car is a 2000 dodge neon es. the wheel in question is the drivers side front. the repair manual shows nothing for the repair. does the axle need removed? i expect the caliper mount need removed.

Basically all you have to do is take the front wheel off, take the 2 bolts holding the brake caliper on,remove caliper and secure it to the shock with a piece of string.Do not disconnect brake lines.Remove brake disk. Then you should be able to knock the broken one out with a hammer. When you put the new one in place it in as tight as you can in to the lug hole. and assemble everything back together. When youre putting your wheel back on make sure to tighten the one that was replaced a bit extra to get it seated into place properly. These are press fit I think usually but if you give a turn with the wrench every few days it'll be good to go.I changed mine a month ago and it cost me 200 just for the lugs. You dont have to buy the ones for the neon you can buy generic ones that are the same size the only difference is the generic ones aren;t threaded on the end to bolt the hubcaps into place.
