After the normal cleaning of filters etc. Push and hold the start/stop button for 5 seconds, switch on the on of switch, if the light is still on press and hold the start stop button again for about 5 seconds. Do it in the order as explained.

Hi Halldor MR,
If you read this - how do you enter config mode and change the time? I would like to try this as I have the same problem.

Water pressure seems to be the main thing most people are citing as the issue. I have a G5955C also and every second or third wash it will give the blinking inlet/outlet problem and shut down. The machine came with a pressure restrictor which I'm going to remove and see how that goes. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I concur - clean the drain pump and non-return valve (see manual). You might need to turn the machine off and on again.

Look in the instruction book for "Cleaning the drain pump and non-return valve" - there is probably some hair or a lump of food stuck in the impeller. Clean any bits out and check the impeller (looks like a little water wheel) turns freely.

I have done this a number of times and it always clears the inlet/outlet problem. You may need to power the machine on and off before restarting it.

Collecting information for this site and others, I have now fixed my dishwasher that had (I think) a similar problem. Mine is a G646SC but that may not be important.

Symptoms

The dishwasher did not fill with water, the inlet/outlet light flashed.

Solution

Look inside the cabinet (where the dirty plates go), on your right there is an outlet, plastic grey circle. This may be loose. Remove this by unscrewing, clean (taking great CARE, I cut my finger on the stainless steel panel edge!), dry and screw firmly into place. This being loose will have caused the washing water to leak into the base pan of the machine (this is the very bottom of the unit). I accessed this by removing two screws inside the front of the machine that attach the lid, unscrew these, slide lid forwards and lift off. (We have UNPLUGGED - yes?) Next remove side panel (I removed both) by removing screws, one on side of front, two on top of side (exposed by removing lid) and one at bottom of back panel.

With sides removed I could mop up the water from the base pan, the machine no longer detected the leak and the machine has worked ever since (all of 1 day so far but I am confident of a clean future).

Good luck

Hello Marcus!

I have the same type of dishwasher as you and have the same problem. What I did was, I entered config mode of the program and extended the time period the water is pumped in. It is configured default for 60 sec. but I put it to 120 sec. This helped me alot but still it stops with water inlet light blinking. The reson for this is the mashine dose not get enough water, either because of low water pressure or some hinder in the water path. If you learn some more, please inform me! Thanks!
