whirlpool adp5550 dishwasher f2 fault?

Disjwasher will not start , just flashes start button lights twice, pause. twice, pause etc
alan, July 2007
The start button of my dishwasher was flashing 9 times and not starting, so as instructed here I pressed the start button for 10 seconds or so and it started as usual.
Thanks for this advise, my wife is not happy though as she wants a new dishwasher...

I had the same problem today, with the flashing lights exactly as described. I first tried M Hill's answer and it worked perfectly. It must be some sort of child lock, but holding the power button in for 10 secs definitely deactivated it, and it all now works perfectly. Thanks M Hill, you saved me a $70 call out fee.

I had the same problem as well!! And Tipping at a 45 degree angle backs wards fix the problem. ANd yes towl tip ready is must. My problem really arose from the air con drain being put on the same out let value.

I read somewhere after having EXACTLY the same problem, that F2 is a flooded base and that you can drain it by tilting the dishwasher back 45 degrees (have towels handy). If it continues, likely to be a leak that needs repair.

The tilting worked in our case.

It may be the childproof lock has been activated. Hold the start button down firmly for ? 10 secs or so and it should beep and start. If you have a manual for this machine or know how to get one can you please email me at hillme@virginbroadband.com.au
thanks
