how do i adjust the handbrake on a 1999 peugeot 306 2.0l hdi
Christopher Hogg, July 2007
There is only one adjustment available as the rear shoes are self adjusting (assuming the shoes haven't warn out). Remove the black plastic centre console around the handbrake either screws or bolts can't remember exactly, you will then see where the cable pivots under the handbrake their is an adjustment nut, adjust this until the handbrake locks between the sixth and eighth click of the handbrake, beware over adjustment will cause the self adjustors on the shoes not to work.
