Keypad locked after a thunderstorm?

After a thunderstorm my alarm went off. Its an Accenta Mini 8. Now both keypads are locked up and I cannot reset the system. The sounder has stopped but the strob is still flashing. This is usually a tamper fault but the tamper circuit is ok. Do I need to completely reset the processor?

Disconnect the mains, then the internal backup battery, wait approx 30 seconds, reconnect battery, enter your user code to silence the alarm ( caused by tamper as you will have the case open) refit case cover ,reconnect mains. This should fix it for you, do a walk test to verify all is well.
If your battery is over 3 years old, replace it as it is, or soon will be, unserviceable.

if you reset the processor do you have to reprogram the system, are the horn and strobe on the same output on control panel. if so horn is bad by now, check voltage on aux output on panel, should read 13.6-13.8 volts dc., check voltage at keypads, if voltage is good then your devices are bad, i thisissomethingyou are not sure about call your alrm company
