when i brake the car, the engine raves up?

hi, when i apply brakes after driving in my ford Ka the engine raves up(accelarates up) by itself for few seconds? i dont know where the problem is

It´s properbly the Idle Air Control Valve, it´s possible to clean it but that means taking it apart. I´ve tried it and it worked okay for me. It really has nothing to do with the brakes, the valve does not close itself like it should(because of dirt) when you ease on the gaspedal.

try visiting www.dervman.com
on the sidebar is a link called "-need Ka help?"
click that one and search for "erratic idle" somewhere down the page.
That´s the info that helped me with my car.
Good luck.

i,d say it has something to do with the servo and suction pipes check under the bonnet for a roundy black thing and find pipes coming off it listing for sucking noise or spray easy start on the engine the revs go up if u have an air leek but only an air leak if it is at the manifold make sure you listen hard

Hi Glenn here , try this, the oil filler ( not filter!) cap , remove and wash out with petrol in a large jam jar, 2-3 times, wait until dry and replace, see if that makes a difference. It acts as a filter and I think its routed to the air supply of the fuel injection. It worked for me.
