HOW TO REMOVE A VAUXHALL VECTRA GEAR BOX?

i have just took my gearbox out of my vectra 130 wat a job best way is to get the chassis on axle stands take the passnger wish bone off take out the drive shaft.. take off the inner arch undo the sub frame and lossen bolts on o/s.. jack engine up take off all gear selector arm split pins undo bell housing bolt gbox should split from engine now bar down sub frame to get gbox out then follow wat you have just done in reverce to fit the new 1

You dont have to remove the engine at all, take out the bolts in the sub frame at the gear box side and loosen the bolts on the other side to lower the sub frame and the gear box will fit past.

dont listen to him, just jack up the engine and get the car as high as you can to allow you to lower the sub frame, its about a six hour job.

Bad news! You have to remove the whole engine & gearbox together with the subframe, suspension and hubs as a unit, change the gearbox and put it all back.
If you do it, don't leave the old clutch in there, it's wise to put a new one in, or pretty soon, you'll have to do it all again!!!
