How can I fix a sticking electric window in my Renault Laguna Mk2 (2001)?

My passenger side front electric window has been making a loud whining/sticking sound when lowering over the past few weeks. It is ok when raising it (although it is still very slow to close). The other day it got so bad that it wouldnt shut again and i had to push it up with my hands as i raised it with the switch.

What can I do to fix this?

Hi mate. A common fault with Lagunas and tricky to rectify - it is usually the fraying of teh cable that slows down the mechanism and ultimately stops it working altogether. The only option is a new mechanism - these are commonly available on Ebay and will solve your problem before it gets worse.

Hope this helps
