how can I fix my Skil 3/8" #569 1/5HP electric drill?

I was using my drill with a 1" bit trying to drill though thick plywood. The drill seized up. When I pull the trigger, nothing happens.

Remove the chuck,(it is on a threaded shaft).Remove the two screws that hold the colar under the chuck. .Remove the 5 screws that hold the two pieces of the drill together.. Carefully remove the two pieces of the drill. The black (hot wire) that comes into the drill from your power source has probably come out of the switch. This is a common problem with the 569 drill. You might need a new switch.. Or, you burned up your drill with too big a bitfor your 569
