faulty drive of beater brushes on dyson dc07?

Dyson DC07 Animal upright.brush roll running slow and sometimes not at all. belt is ok, brushes ok. how do you access the drive from the motor to the brush roll?
Cannot seem to get the brush roll housing apart at each end to get the belt drive.

Sounds like the drive belt to the clutch mech is stretched and slipping on the drive shaft. The clutch assembly cover is accessed with 3 torx screws. It is tricky to remove as it has a 'pin' guide through to the bottom section as well as being behind the brush roller plate. But it can be persuaded to come out. But if you need to fit a new belt - that's a whole new ball game....

Hi.

If rotating the knob on the left hand side does not solve your problem chances are one of the clutch belts or the clutch itself is slipping.
You can pick up a clutch for approx £15.00 on Ebay
& then you can purchase a manual to show you how to strip machine down & fit the clutch again readily available from Ebay UK for £7.50
Its not that difficult to repair.

Had a similar problem and messed for ages. finally realised that there is an adjusting wheel on the base plate. moved mine from N to P and bingo, working fine. Worth a look
