The fan is not working on my bosch electric oven. I have to 'kick start' the fan by flicking it with a knife after about 10mins when the oven is hot to get it going.

Is the fan motor broken? The elements are heating up fine but I don't know if it the fan motor or the fan needs some lubricating?

The bearings have failed. They are not generaly repairable in this type of motor (know as a shaded-pole design) and the cost effective solution is to replace the motor. Lubrication may help in the short term but wear has taken place and the damage has been done.
