Hoover TC650 heating element stays on when you stop the dryer ?

Hi Can anyone help me my TC650 dryer is having problems !
First of all there was a smell of burning and then the filter light came on, this has happened before so I new what caused it,so I replaced the thermal fuse with the new one and that worked as the element came on and started to heat up but when i was checking it was all working fine I noticed that when i opened the door the element was still on and glowing very hot, so I unplugged it before it blew another thermal fuse can anyone help me please.

When you open the door, does the drum continue to tumble?
If so, the door micro switch is buggered or it's jammed full of fluff.
If the drum does NOT continue to tumble but the heater element stays on, it sounds like an insulation fault. Past experience tells me that the wire harness to the bottom thermostat has rubbed against the drum, and is causing an electrical insulation fault. Simply repair and insulate the wire from the drum / drum support bar.
