Changing the Oil?

What to do if you over fill the oil and when you start the engine, white smoke is coming from the mower.

Tracy, March 2005
Do the above, if the smoke persists after an hour or two, flush ou the carb, intake and exhaust system with suitable cleaners (Not water), change the spark plug and change the air filter as this could have become contaminated!

Jim Cooper-2 years as a lawn mower apprentice!, March 2005
Drain out the oil, either all of it if it hasn't been changed for a while, or just drain the excess out until the level comes down to maximum on the dipstick/sightglass. If you have drained all the oil out, change the oil filter also (if fitted) and refill with fresh clean oil to the maximum level. You might find the engine will still smoke for a while but it will get better as it burns off aby residue oil.
