perhaps you could use some wood filler in the hole, there are a few different makes but ought to have the filler and hardener, you mix it with hardener and then apply it to the hole, then you make sure it is thoroughly dry before considering screwing back into it, i hope this is of some help, i am a child of a single mum and have had to do so much stuff helping her as she has spine injury, we have fixed loads of things hehe..
