Service required Epson C42UX?

Printer sending serice require message - how do I fix it
Bob, August 2007
It is likely that the ink absorber pads (felt pads) under the carriage are "life expired" ie the machine has counted a set amount of cleaning cycles and you are expected to have an engineer replace the pads and reset the count. Bearing in mind the cost of service engineers, you can either dump your machine or if you feel lucky, enter service mode and reset the count. I would advise against the latter as you do not know how full these pads are and you could have a spillage of ink. Hope this helps.
