Gas fridge won't stay lit (caravan)?

I have an Electrolux RM212 fridge which lights ok on gas but will not stay alight once the button has been released. So far I have checked that the fridge is level, cleaned the flue including the wiggly bit (technical term) inside, still no joy so I changed the thermo coupler (or whatever its called) and still it won't stay alight. HELP.

Hi Take care with this cure, It sounds like you have over ridden the safety device, it works like this.
When you start the burner pressing the valve in opens the gas valve. When the thermocouple heats up it provides ciurrent to small solenoid which holds the valve open. If the flame blows out the thermocouple cools releasing the valve shutting off the gas.
The voltage fron the couple is very low and the current quite high, therfore everything must be clean remove all corrosion from the thermocouple end and in the solenoid connector carefully. On rare occasions the solenoid in the valve fails.
Hope this helps.

Vic,
I also had an Electrolux fridge 212 that wouldn’t stay lit when you release the gas button
I went down to my local caravan dealer. He said it could be the thermo couple I told him I had already replaced that. He told me the easy thing to try was to take the knob of the gas vale. Put some paper inside the knob to push the vale further in. That’s done the trick for me.
Good luck
