Recognising a warning sighn?

I have a warning light that keeps coming up on the dash board of my citroen xara but have no idea what its for there is nothing in the manual to exlain what its for.Can u help?It has wavey lines with something that looks like a cap above and lights red.

I think thats your oil sign, you need to top up your oil, if you wanna live, you can also get , major engine damage
