my fridgidaire washer runs,even if i turn it off?

our washer runs and continues to fill even if i push the knob in to turn it off,i have to unplug it and it overfilled and water ran every where in my basement.

one of your water inlet valves is faulty and sticking open only cure is to replace it pull the plug first though
