SIME SUPER 90 MkII boiler doesn't stay lit !?

When turned on, our SIME boiler is continually igniting, burning for about 8 seconds and then cutting out. A friend who fits boilers (but not these) reckons it may be a sensor failure. Any advice as to what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated as I am not relishing the idea of forking out the best part of a grand to replace the damn thing.
Cheers, Francis.

The most likely cause of the boiler fault is afaulty ignition box. This is fitted onto the gas valve.
There are two types that could be fitted, a single colour royal blue box part number 6210203 or a two tone coloured box with a turquoise side part number 6210205. Parts can be obtained from HRPC. Sime can be contacted on 08709911114 or enquiries@sime.ltd.uk
