AEG favorit dishwasher heater element?

My AEG Favorit dishwasher does not heat up . Is the element gone or could it be something else. If the element can it be replaced easily and how do you get to the element.

On mine it sometimes does heat, sometimes it does not.

I guessed this rules out the element.

So it can be either the thermostat, or the PCB. But I noticed my sprinklers were all blocked by stone, so I am trying to see if it could be stone accumulating on the element body.

(not sure if stone is a correct translation - I mean the white/gray residients that often accumulate on stuff emerged in water)

Thanks.

The element is well easy to get to, roll the thing so the door is on the floor and remove the back panels, the element is in the bottom left corner as you loo at it, it looks like a loo roll with rubber pipes going in and out, just unclip the pipers and Tadda' sorted. A new element cost me about £40, but mine is still not heating... I am looking at the thermostat now !!
