Replacing door hinge on Hotpoint Washing machine WM62?

I need to replace the door hinge on my WM 62.The hinge is attached to the machine with 2 screws. The plate that they screw into is not fixed and consequently requires to be held from the back when the 2 screws are removed or it will drop down into the machine. Can the rubber seal on the door be removed from the front to gain access. On the door itself how do you seperate the white plastic inner and outer to gain access to the femail part of the hinge, this is necessary to clear the bits of the old broken hinge from their holes.I have removed the 4 screw but the two parts will not seperate.

It's a bit late as an answer but perhaps it will help others in the future.

I have had to replace the door hinge too, here is how I did it. Two people will be better than one for this.

Remove the rubber seal of the drum by pulling out the catch at the top of the drum entrance and then remove the long wire that holds the seal in place. You do this so you can get your fingers to the metal plate that sits inside the drum that the hinge screws into. If you dont hold it in place it will drop into the machinery.

Remove the hinge while holding the backplate and then replace the screws - so you can let go of the backplate.

Now repair your door - put the two new hinge bearings (white square plastic) onto the metal hinge. Undo the four screws on the back of the door, place a screwdriver into the hinge area and twist the two panels of the door apart, remove the old hinge bearings and make enough space to fit the two hinge bearings and the metal hinge. Then screw back together.

With the help of a friend, put your fingers back in the drum seal area and hold the backplate again, remove the screws, still holding the backplate and then screw the door to the washing machine.

Lastly, replace the wire for the rubber seal.

There is a metal band that holds the rubber seal in place to the chassis. Its locked in place by a plastic tab at the 12 o'clock position. Mine i pryed off, and managed to reuse it. This will give you better access to the backing plate of the door hinge.
As for the door, i think its held together by screws... but its been a while since ive stripped mine so im unsure.
