Best way to fix Kenwood Chef A901 which went with a bang and a lot of smoke?

I suspect the motor has burnt out, so would like to know the best way to repair it?

Check on Ebay - there is a guy in England selling repair kits with everything you need. Not too expensive.

What's going on! Ours did too. The capacitor has blown out in the base. Am trying to source it now.

Hello Margaret and Simon,
I had the same problem with my A901 about 7 years ago.
I dismantled the thing and found the printed circuit board on top of the motor was all black and nasty.
I don't have much electronics knowledge but luckily worked at a University where there was a man who did !
He identified two capacitors that had exploded. He supplied the numbers/values of them and I ordered them from the departmental store.
I've since retired and forgotten all the fine details but I fitted the new bits and it has worked well ever since. The bits (capacitors) were only pence each.
Hope that's of some help. Don't throw them away yet !!!
All the best
Brian

Simon,

Not an answer, I'm afraid, but my Kenwood Chef A901 did the same (bang & a lot of smelly smoke) just a week ago. Did you find out how to fix it?
