Windows Media Player has disappeared how can I reinstall it?

My Windows Media Player application has gone. The icon has changed indicating that it is not pointing at the correct exe any more. When I double click on media windows can't find WMP.

How can I reinstall/repair Windows Media Player?

If you go to C: Documents and Settings,Your Computer's Name,Local Settings,Application Data,Microsoft and find the folder called Media Player. Rename this folder ~Media Player. Once this is done, open your media player and it will re-instate your library.

Find the program folder in your program files the send a shortcut to your desktop of the .exe (If you double click on the .exe in the folder and it does not work you will need to re-install a new version (It's free) (www.microsoft.com)
