You are not alone! I recently purchased a second hand Tower compact Slow cooker as my original has surpassed reasonable safety allowances. I attempted to remove the pot and noticed it was somewhat resistant. I also noticed that the lid seemed slightly different. The resultant checks indicated that the model appeared to be a slightly earlier one than my previous purchase. I have tried to obtain information on the web using the manual and recipe book supplied with the model purchased from new. No success I'm afraid. It may well be that the earlier model is not designed for use with a removable pot!
