I do not know if my car needs a new thermostat or water pump. The temperature gauge isn't going in the red but the coolant light stays on and there is a funky smell like it's burning. What is that?
Start with the thermostat because it is cheaper and usually the cause of these problems. While, you doing it get the rad flushed and the coolant changed.
