Problem with freezer on Hoover HCA394FKPW?

Hi, my freezer isn't quite cold enough in the top 2 compartments and some things are defrosting, but the bottom two are fine.
The fridge freezer is a Hoover HCA 394 FKPW type PF37.

Any known problems or remedies please,

Darren

Hi I had the same problem and got a repair guy out. When he removed the back panel in the freezer (where the fan is located) the fan had gotten stuck all he had to do was pull it out slightly, its worked fine ever since. £97 that cost me and he wass in house for 20mins!! Hope that helps

I have exactly the same problem, its only happened recently, can you let me know if you've tried anything to stop it yet? Thanks

It is possible that the "defrost" sensor in the freezer is not working correctly and bringing on the heater to melt the ice on the freezer evaporator. you can tell if you remove the cover in the freezer that hides the evaporator and look at the ice build up. If the heater is working there will be no ice on it, if it is encased with ice and the top had a layer of ice on this will stop the fan sucking the cold air from the bottom of the freezer to the top giving an unveven cooling pattern. if this is the case you need to replace the defrost sensor which looks like a white oxo cube in the right hand corner. The part number should be 41004399.

hiya, i have the same problem with my freezer compartment - same model. You have to completely defrost the whole fridge freezer as it has probably been left slightly ajar and has a build up of ice inside the fan section. It should work perfectly once you have done this....takes a good few hours to do it though. Good luck Louise
