chime is off timing on my cucukoo clock?

when my cucukoo clock is at four o´clock,it chimes once,at four thirty,it chimes four times.at six,it chimes once,at six thirty,it chimes six times.how do i time it so it will chime right, seems as if the gear timing is off.the name has rubbed off,all i know it was made in 1965,and has two weights.

thanks

Try this. Remove the weights off the chains. Slowly move the minute hand until it chimes the full hour (in your case when the clock would chime four times it would show 4:30). Now carefully unscrew the screw holding the hands, trying not to move the axis. Readjust the hour and minute hands and screw them back. That's how I set my clock. If you do not have a screw holding the hands it may be that they are just squeezed onto the axis. In this case you would need to carefully pull them off and again readjust them and push them back.
