Mine did the same (T reg) after some time discovered that the water comes through the seal between the rear light assembly and the body work when the rubber seal gets old. I stopped the water and saved a few bob by taking the lamp assembly off and smearing grease on both sides of the old seal - then replaced lamp assembly. Lasted 2 years until wife wrote the car off !!

I had the same problem -the seal around the rear lamp cluster was not fitted properly its easy to see the problem if you remove it .first try to work out which side it is then remove dry clean and apply silicon -5 years on still ok
