my boiler runs on economy seven but its not coming on at night when its suppose to . to heat water up .it came on one day then next did not and has not come on since. i have a booster switch which is used when and if we run out of hot water. on pressing this switch water heats up in my boiler and we have hot water.so can you tell me why my boiler is not coming on please and why i am having to use the booster switch which of course eating my electric.my house is all electric. thank you for your co-operation in this matter yours faithfully j.knott

this is an immersion heater not a boiler.

you have two electric elements in the tank that you can see one at the bottom and one near the top.
the bottom one needs checking . i would say it's knackered. it is common they don't last forever

they work like a kettle.
