why is my fridge continually frosting up at the back(Neff)?

It is a Neff integrated fridge but is continually frosting up at the back, and when it gets bad it runs continuously.

Hello Howard,Thanks ever so much for taking the trouble to reply to the question of my fridge problem,I would think that after reading your theory is that it is the refrigerant that needs topping up as it does't get cold enough despite the frost build up,and if I turn the thermostat down it does cut out,and starts up again when the stat is turned up but just keeps running to try to get to the set temp.
Thanks a lot,
John

John,

The frosting up,if its an isolated area then the unit is probably short of refrigerant. If there is frost over the whole of the plate(evaporator) then it could be damaged or poor fitting door seals. If the fridge is getting too cold then it would probably be the thermostat. The thermostats when they are satisfied and cut out have a very long lag before they cut back in.This gives the evaporator time to defrost.
