how do I get my back hatch open when the automatic button will not release?

My back hatch on my 2000 chevy blazer will not open I can hear that the motor is working but how do you get into the back panel to fix it?

the rear trim panel has a small hole off to the center of the trim panel , find it an pick at it to release the back latch, the hole is hard to find
