Emergency! Clock running but oven not heating?

Dinner party looming hence the urgency! I have an Ariston built-in double oven, not sure of the model, but it's got a large oven above a smaller one which also has a grill. The clock is running but neither oven is heating up at all. If I switch off the switch on the 'cooker' wall-plate the clock stops, so I'm pretty sure there isn't a power feed problem to the oven itself. Is there an internal fuse that may have blown? I find it difficult to believe that all the top and bottom oven and grill elements have all failed at the same time.

Brilliant!
I had a similar problem with our Bosch oven. Your answer made me realize its timer could be in a strange state: and it was. Problem solved!

I've found the problem! The knob that turns the oven onto automatic timer had been turned to auto and turned back but not quite all the way to manual even though it looked like it had, so the oven wouldnt come on until the appropriate time (which wasnt set).
