How can I fix my heating element on Indesit IS70C?

A bolt dropped out of the back of the machine and after a few months of the most horrendous noise, has damaged one of the elements of the heating element at the back. Is it possible for a lay person to purchase the element and re fit it themselves? I have found a website where I can purchase an Indesit heating element

Hi Helen

Thanks for your response - will give it a try

The site where I found the heating element is http://www.espares.co.uk

They are also contactable by phone if you can't find what you need.

If this doesn't work, I am going to get a John Lewis own make - made by AEG and comes with 3 years free warranty - no more Comet for me!!!

Hi. We had the same problem with ours about a year ago and my layman husband fitted it no problems. From my little understanding its very straight forward. Undo the back panel where the heating element sits loosen the side panel to unclip the wires then just pull it out and refit the new one in the same way. Well thats what we did anyway and it worked fine. WORKED fine is the operative word. I am now looking for a new heating element as we have lost this one too. After looking on which website i have noticed they have sited it as a worse buy with only 39% score as apposed to 69% at the top. Next time i will buy a bosch. Good luck and PS what is the website for the heating element?
