When ignition is on, my indicator relay/flasher unit randomly click into life...

It doesn't illuminate any exterior or interior lamps but it's VERY annoying. I've changed the flasher unit and repeatedly plugged it in and out to remove any possible corrosion from the terminals.

But it still happens! any ideas?

I had this until the indicator switch failed (with smoke coming out of it!). The problem had been there from new and the dealer had not been able to sort it (info from previous owner) .
Following fitting the new switch it has not done it again.

probably a bad earth somewhere ,maybey at the bottom of the dash on the left at the bonnet pull or maybey at the drivers side ,a lot of electrical faults are bad earths or broken or faulty wiring
