I actually did it! I laid it on its back. I muscled the spring open (wearing gloves), and slipped the short end of an allen wrench in the channel that appeared once the spring was opened far enough. Then I lined up the bottom slot of the spring with the bottom pin that you see through the slot on the oven that the spring of the door slides into. After that I carefully closed the door as far as I could, reached down with a pair of pliers, and pryed the wrenches out. The door closed perfectly. That only took about 4 months with the oven door off for me to look on this website to put it back on:) Thanks.

I used two nickels taped together with electrician's tape-- fit perfectly in the open hinge to hold it open while popping it all into the oven. They just plopped out on the floor when it was all done.

I have a Whirlpool Oven FCSM6 model AKZ406/WH. How can I remove the door(window) to clean it?
anyone can help please ?

it really is easy. I did it in 2 seconds. The hinges on the oven door spring forward. They are stiff so you have to give a little muscle. when you spring one forward, you should see a small hole in the hinge. if one hinge is already positioned properly, you should be able to see the hole. Basically once you spring the hinge forward, have a nail or alan wrench that will fit through the hole, preventing the hinge from springing back all the way. This allows you to position the door back in place. Befor removing the nail, make sure the door opens and closes properly. And you are done!!!

I ran into this same problem. What I did was...I got a couple of small allen wrenches, pushed down on the hinges, inserted the allen wrenches into the holes. The allen wrenches secure the hinges in place while you position the hinges back onto the keepers. Once you have the hinges on the keepers securely, lay the door down into the wide open position, pull out the wrenches and voila door is secured.

As Priscilla said you can also use nails, but thick ones are recommended as those hinges are pretty strong.

What I would suggest is if you plan on taking your oven door off, put something in the holes before you take the hinges off the keepers. I just jerked the door off and found myself in a predicament. lol!

Good luck. ;-)

lay oven door flat on the floor. With pliers pull hinge back until you see a little hole. Insert a nail through the hole (both hinges) the lift door, line up into slots, pull nails out and door should be in place. Be very careful nails do not snap and fly into your eye or face. Very easy to do, believe me I did it!!!
