Handbrake sticking on 2001 Mondeo?

I have a 2001 Mondeo had problems with handbrake sticking on the drivers side. New caliper and cables have not solved it. The connector on the caliper does not return full when handbrake released.

same happened to me. I cleaned up the lever on the rear brake disc using wire brush and lubricated thoroughly with WD40 whilst i got second person to apply handbrake on and off several times until it was fully released. Hope this helps
