Hello, my son has a Peugot speefight 2.The bike wont start , it wont even turn over.The battery is fully charged. Could this be the cdi unit. I believe you can buy new ones which by pass the old units. Can anyone help

check the spark plug. -Remove the spark plug and put it back in the plug cap, now bring it near negative. ex chasis or exhaust pipe then kickstart it. You can see if there's a good spark, if ok turn your attention to the carb, remove the air filter check if there's enough fuel coming in or you may block using your palm the carb opening then kickstart again, you will feel the fuel reaching your palm. then start again. you need to check if ther's a good compression. use the kickstart and not the electrical start on these situations.

sounds like its more like a cut out switch stuck or inactive,
the cdi wont stop the engine turning over ,as it only stores power to send to the coil,
1, is there a switch on the stand?
2, is there a switch on the brake levers?
3, has starter gear become stuck?
thats where you should start
